OwnerVia respects copyright. This page explains how to request removal of content you believe infringes your copyright, and how we handle manuals that vehicle owners upload themselves.

Reporting infringing content

If you believe material available through OwnerVia infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at cole@ownervia.com with:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
  2. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, and where it appears on OwnerVia (a vehicle page URL, or a description specific enough for us to locate it).
  3. Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you're the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We'll remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the OwnerVia user responsible for it.

We may terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly upload infringing material.

Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including:

  1. Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  2. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, address, and phone number.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of your local federal district court.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

We may restore the material if we don't receive notice that the original complainant has filed a lawsuit within a reasonable time.

Manuals owners upload

If a vehicle owner uploads their own copy of their vehicle's owner's manual, we store and use it only to answer that owner's questions about their own vehicle — see our upload terms for details. If you're a copyright holder with a concern about a specific uploaded manual, contact us using the process above.
