Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

These terms cover your use of OwnerVia — the platform that lets car dealers give every vehicle they sell its own AI assistant. By creating a dealer account, or by using a vehicle's assistant as a shopper or buyer, you agree to these terms.

What OwnerVia is

OwnerVia lets a dealer add their vehicles, each getting a branded QR sticker that connects anyone who scans it to an assistant. Before a sale, it answers shopper questions about that car or the dealer's lot using the vehicle's real specs and safety data — OwnerVia doesn't fetch, source, or otherwise supply any owner's manual for this. After a sale, the buyer can claim it as their own vehicle's personal assistant, which can also answer from the vehicle's owner's manual if the buyer chooses to obtain and upload their own copy of it (see "Ownership" below), for as long as the dealer they bought from remains an active OwnerVia dealer (see "Subscriptions and payment" below).

Dealer accounts

  • You sign in with Google and are responsible for keeping your account secure.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the vehicle information you add — VINs, specs, and anything else you enter.
  • Your business name and logo are used to brand your vehicles' pages for your customers; you're responsible for having the rights to use whatever logo you upload.

Subscriptions and payment

Paid plans are billed through Stripe at the price and interval shown when you sign up. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard; canceling stops future billing but doesn't retroactively refund the current period unless we say otherwise when you ask.

What happens if a dealer's subscription lapses

A vehicle's sticker and assistant stay live for as long as the dealer's OwnerVia subscription is active — including a dealer's free trial. If a dealer cancels, their vehicles' assistants keep working through the end of the period they already paid for, then are suspended. If a payment fails, we give the dealer a 14-day grace period to fix it before suspending anything.

Suspension is strictly an access pause, never a deletion — a dealer's vehicles, stickers, manuals, and customer data all stay exactly as they were. A shopper or buyer who scans a sticker for a suspended dealer sees a plain message that the assistant isn't currently active, with no error and no dealer data shown. If the dealer resubscribes, everything reactivates automatically — no action needed from shoppers or buyers.

AI-generated answers

Answers come from an AI model reading the vehicle's real specs and safety data, the owner's manual an owner has chosen to obtain and upload for their own vehicle (if any), and general knowledge when nothing else covers something — we label which is which. AI can make mistakes. OwnerVia, and the dealers using it, aren't responsible for decisions made solely on the basis of an AI-generated answer, especially anything safety-critical (towing capacity, torque specs, fluid types). Always verify against the actual manual or ask the dealer directly when it matters.

Acceptable use

Don't use OwnerVia to list vehicles you don't have the right to sell, to impersonate another business, to scrape or abuse the assistant, or to attempt to access another dealer's data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this.

Shoppers and buyers

If you're scanning a sticker to shop or to use your vehicle's assistant, the assistant is provided as a convenience and an information source — it isn't a substitute for your owner's manual, a mechanic, or professional advice, and it never has access to dealer-internal information like pricing, sale status, or other customers' data.

Ownership

Your business name, logo, and vehicle data remain yours. The OwnerVia platform, software, and branding are ours. If you upload your own vehicle's manual, you keep all rights to it — we're licensed only to store and use it to answer your questions about your vehicle.

No warranty, limitation of liability

OwnerVia is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to these terms

If we materially change these terms, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
